Yellow Perch Record

I caught a nice yellow perch today on the ice and was looking in the Nova Scotia aquaculture fish records and I saw that the record for a youth is 0.63lb. I am 14 so I qualify for a youth. my fish was 0.8 lb. finally how would I get this entered into the records. I have a picture to prove it.

you would need in the pic a scale holding the fish with that measured weight showing, unless you have the fish it's going to be hard to prove. You will have to contact fisheries and aquaculture http://novascotia.ca/phone

Congrats on your catch young lad, my biggest was probably around a half pound at most.
I believe the catch must be weighed on a certified scale, (Grocery store, Post office, etc) and, if I remember correctly, you must have at least one witness other than yourself. (probably because we anglers as a group, have a reputation for "stretching" the truth when it comes to our piscatorial accomplishments). It would be a bonus if you still had the fish (frozen). Keep the photo even if it is not accepted as a record. And, Congratulations!!,

Regards
Thanks guys. I sent off an email and photos to DFO and DNR.
Unfortunately I don't have the fish anymore, he has been eaten.
Even if they dont accept it I still have the bragging rights :)

I've got a few pictures JUST like that of my record breaking fish tooo......

haha kidding but your links didn't work out, try uploading the pics to a site like imgur or tinypic
That's a nice perch, which lake did you get it in? I fish fall river a lot and have never gotten one like that.
I was at the south end of beaver pond. It's pretty close to the golf course off windser junction road. Lots of good pickeral in there too
Nice, I fish kinsac all the time and have had some major pickerel, never a perch though. I'll need to try beaver pond.
try Miller lake lots of perch in that lake.
and loads of smallmouth bass in Miller, though I've never caught anything big out of there.
Governor Lake as large Perch. You can catch him by the Tim Horton end of the lake along the Bike and Rail trail. Worm and spiner with slow presentation seem to work well there.

Oh I hope not... I fish there a lot and have never caught a yellow perch .. there are white perch there.. only thing that bites on the right days, but nothing particularly big.

Really hope the yellows aren't in there, they breed faasstt and that lake has enough problems with runoff from the development and people's houses as it is.

On a side note, I've got a pic of a huge yellow caught last year that quite possibly would be a contender for the perch record if it had been measured correctly (not your youth record Colton don't worry haha).

Can't upload the picture to the gallery based on site rules, but this thing is bigger than the 12 inch catfish next to it lol what is the provincial record currently?
