this is my 1st yr back into fishing and ice fishing.
ive got a lot of my stuff for all seasons off of ebay
Ive been to almost every Canadian Tire in HRM, and i find their selection somewhat lacking overall.
i find wally world to be quite similar.
i woiuld assume that fishing fever will offer a good selection.

i miss back home for fishing gear.
i have a few friends that are going down to the U.S. just after thanksgiving, Im going to try to convince them to bring me back some stuff

I have pretty much given up on shopping for fishing tackle, and lots of other items I need in Nova Scotia. I have been shopping on Ebay, and at online retailers to get the gear I need for years now!!!! Not only do I save lots of $$$ in fuel from not having to drive to a store, but I save LOTS of $$$$ by getting the gear for much less online!!!!!!

what other sites are you using other then ebay?
what do you think of BPS and Cabellas for online? ive never used them.
I have purchased from both Bass Pro Shops, and Cabelas. GREAT selection to choose from, good prices, and fast shipping. The only thing I dislike about them is the cost of the BROKER FEES for customs. But using a customs broker does expidite the shipping process.

I tend to prefer shopping on Ebay, much better prices, and/or deals on stuff if you have the HOURS to browse the listings looking for the deals!!!!

I find it hit and miss year to year, when we first got our ice season fishing fever was on the ball and I outfitted myself from auger to jigs for under a hundred and still use all of it. Last year can-tire in Tantallon had a great selection of gear.

yep that's why im trying to get a jump on it this year
1/2 the gear is in and ravaged before even know its on the shelf
this year i started checking about mid Sept
hoping to get a jump on it

last year i didn't find fishin fever had much ice gear
but there selections was fairly well rounded they didn't have lots
to choose from but still had everything you need to get out on the ice
and if anyone's looking for a reel FnF was the only place i could find
a ultra light ice reel with out having to get a rod with it
shakespear spinning reel 14.99 cant go wrong with that

Princess Auto has a couple different rods and rod combos on the shelves in the $20 range if I remember correctly, and a really cheap rod that felt like a piece of steel, it was terrible. Few little odds and ends too (rod holders and such). If I didn't already have 6 ice fishing rods I might remember more about them, but I wasn't really paying attention. Seriously, 6 ice fishing rods and we're only allowed to use one at a time... are the lakes frozen yet?

Canadian Tire in New Minas has no ice fishing gear out, I asked and they said they will not put it out till after Christmas. Not great if you want to buy an Ice Fishing Christmas gift.

Same around here as well. I have pretty much given up on looking for ice fishing gear around here. I'm just happy I kept all my ice rods, tip ups, and a bit of ice jigs left from the move. I sold my auger before I moved down, thinking I would save space and buy another before the Ice season last year, and I had all I could do to find a hand auger around here last year to go ice fishing period.
