Hello,
I usually fish rivers and streams but with the water so low I may have to resort to fishing lakes. Trout has always been the specie I target and because I am a catch and release fisherman my impact on trout is minimal. What I would like to know is what flies have been very successful fishing lakes. Because I have no boat I will be fishing from shore if possible.
Any help you could give me would be most appreciated as to flies and sizes. Thank you.

You need to fish nymphs. Best with a floating line and indicator with weighted nymphs. There is lots of instruction online.

Thank you enticer for your suggestion. I have rarely fished nymphs on streams and never weighted nymphs. It seems I will need to do some remedial education regarding nymphs. Thank you again for your suggestion.
