Hi all,
I heard about this from wife who got it from Facebook. There is a viral video of government employees pouring a fish poison into the Miramachi River. I did some research and found out that this is an intentional program to poison invasive species. Apparently they first net and remove as many 'good' fish to a safe area. Then they pour in a temporary poison to kill everything else.
Is that being done in Nova Scotia?
What are your thoughts?

What's being done:

Was done in NS last year in Pipers Lake, successfully got rid of invasive and allowed native wildlife to return. Also happened last weekend in Dobson's Lake to remove smallmouth bass.

Overall I'd say its a good method to deal with invasive species, better alternative than allowing them to spread.
