The winter season is upon us, and it seems as though there will be some, or a lot, of open water. Is it worth trying to fish from shore for trout in January? There are a couple of lakes on the list that are fine for shore fishing during the summer, but I am not sure how that translates into winter fishing.

Thanks.

and the fishing has been great

i was out on the 26th for bows and had one of my best days for bows all year
even scored a nice brookie as by catch

I managed to hook and fight a small bow on Penhorn today, lost it at my feet. I would have prefered ice though.
