Thanks to Nova Scotia and N.S. Fishing.com for our fall visit. We had a great time and were warmly welcomed by all. Unfortunately cut short, so no fishing, but I'll be back soon.
In the meantime, thought I would share this with you. True story, happened to me.

Purchased a new 7-8 wt. kit and thought I would try it out at the local parks grassy area. Wasn't long before 3 tykes, about 3-5 yrs. old came over. A little bewildered, they asked "watcha doin Mister"?
Told them I was practising fly casting for fishing.
"How do you catch fish like that", they ask?
I explained simply that you take a fly with a hook, and tie it on to the end of the line. Then you cast it into the water and the fish bite the hook. Then you bring it in.

The young girl about 4 yrs. old stared at me for a few seconds and then said...

"So what are you doin now...catching the flies"?

Almost lost it. LOL
Wish the parents were close enough to hear it.

Cheers

Great story, and possible, my first attempts at casting were at a local field with a piece of yarn for a fly, on one cast just as the yarn was turning over a dragon fly picked it off and hovered with it for a few seconds. Glad you enjoyed your visit.
