Has anyone ever heard of anyone catching any or for that matter any reports at all. have heard the white marlin ranges north to nova scotia and also some reports of the blue doing likewise. I have only ever heard of swordfish around here though.

Not usually inshore, around here. (Although there some documented events where Tarpon carcasses have shown up in this province.) However, east of here in the Gulf Stream, (well beyond the range of sport fishing boats), we very well might be amazed at the abundance and variety of life to be found in that ocean river. IMO, you are not going to see any Marlin in our waters unless the water temps get well over 70 degrees fahrenheit. Swordfish prefer water in the 65-68F range, but Marlin like 70-75F range.
