Looking For A Brown Trout Lake

MacPherson's lake in Pictou County does have lots of Browns in it.

Bloodknot-the browns been being stocked there for at least 10 years.

The best spot in the lake for Browns I find is where you put the boat in at.Go straight across the lake and there is a large rock on the other shore.Fish about 10-20 feet in front of that.If you have a fish finder go over around the big rock as there is quite a large hole there where the Browns hold up.
Also there is minnows in the lake as well so Rapalas trolling may pick some up.Either that or use a minnow trap and get some minnows to try.
I find either a Rapala Rainbow Trout color pattern will work or use a Double Gold Willow Leaf spinner and Nightcrawler for trolling.

If you are ever up there and see some A**holes driving there ATV's in the lake or Trucks in the lake around the shore where you put your boat in try and get a license plate number and report them. They been doing this for the past few years and have made quite a set of ruts in the lake which is also possible ruining spawning grounds for the browns and speckies.
I cannot catch any of them in the act but have seen the effects around the edge of the lake from where they have been doing this. One day I will have the camera and they will arrive to be in the lake and then I will have pictures to send in to the officials and see if something can be done about them.

Either way there are lots of Browns in the lake.Just takes time and patience.Fish finder would be very helpful for the lake at finding the deeper holes.
