I haven't tried them, but heard lots of good reviews. The guy who ownes Pieroway lives in Calgary but is from Newfoundland. Here's a link to his facebook if you're a Facebook member, lots of pictures to have a look at his rods.

If anybody has or is going to buy a Pieroway rod I'd like to hear your 'review', as I may get one myself, someday.

Here is the little I know of them. Online most [all?] customers are satisfied, including those who had repairs done. They turn their own cork handles, [and possibly design the blanks??], and assemble the rods from Asian-made blanks in Calgary. They also have a rep in Cornerbrook.

They seem worth the price, but if I'm going to spend more than a few dollars I'd like to handle the rod first. I don't think they have a 'trial/refund period' plan.

Other than that, some local praise would help.

cheers,

chuck

You should contact them the see about trying one out. Their blanks are made in Korea and they did have a hand in designing them, the rest is done in Calgary(real seats, cork and wraps). There's a few guys back in Nova Scotia who has tried them, unfortinatly they're no longer part of this site.

Regional Field Director for Eastern Canada is Rob Healy in HFX. Contact him at [email protected] I plan on getting a 6wt for my son in the Spring from Pieroway. Rob Solo is also a rep in NL, and has designed the Solo Specialist rod, a 6wt, for grilse salmon & trout. They also have a rod which is a tribute to our troops, and $50 from every rod sold goes to a worthwhile cause. Take a peek at their website & see the choices available.
