Hi all,

Ive done a little of research the past year or two on The Lake of Island, in the interior of The Cape Breton Highlands. I was wondering If anybody has gone there? I am planning a extensive fly fishing trip there and would like any extra information that any one knows about the area.

Thanks.

Its in the Park, about a 25km hike. Lobster is another good one so I hear.
I hiked to the lake, a few years back the trail was closed / discontinued, not sure if it has been reopened, did not get to fish the lake, had been sent on my way shortly after ariving by park warden on a quad. Made for a long walk, half way along the trail is the branch pond which I hear is good to fish.

I am looking at going into Tip over lake which is near Lake of Islands, however I may attempt it by walking in from Cheiticamp Lake in the Highlands, would like to hear from some who has done this.
