News from the Atlantic Salmon Federation (ASF)

Salmon Farmers in New Brunswick are temporarily allowed to use the restricted pesticide Alphamax (deltamethrin) against sea lice, which worries fishermen and environmentalists.

An interesting letter from the Chairman of Fisheries Committee for the NB Wildlife Federation appeared in the Telegraph Journal on the issue of smallmouth bass in the Miramichi River.

Speaking of the Miramichi: Despite the economic slump, salmon lodges on the Miramichi did very well this year.

Donal O'Brien, Former Chairman of ASF (U.S.), recently received The Audubon Medal from the National Audubon Society in recognition of his dedication to advancing conservation on a global scale for five decades.

ASF is hosting the Annual Saint John Dinner with the NB Salmon Council and the Miramichi Salmon Association on Wednesday, November 3.
