Anyone Know Of An Easy Access Lake That Holds Larger Yellow Perch?

Miller lake has sum big yellows in it..

Try eden Lake I have caught 11"ers there while trolling for trout. It is half way between Aspen and Thorburn on the #347.

Wright's Lake in Tantallon, caught 10 Yellow Perch for every Trout last year.

Mcelmonds Pond in debert or also the other ponds in debert directly across from the firing range both have trout, white and yellow perch

I'm not too far from there, I was just looking on a map...is it worth me heading out there without a boat? I see it's in back of that subdivision by the petro canada but will I be able to get around the lake without crowding the homeowners?

I suppose I should take a ride. Does anyone know of a spot out this way I might get a few from shore? There is a lake every 200 metres in that area there must be some good spots. I promise to only take a couple...just curious to see what they taste like, I havent had a perch since I was a kid in Ontario my dad and I would catch a bunch and my dad would gripe a little about cleaning them. I remember they taste really good, like walleye, but I can't recall the flavor of either..

Do you guys know good place to park, launch a boat on Wrights Lake?

If I go out there and scope it out can I come in the boat?

if you look on google maps, you'll see a road called Wrights lake run. its a dead end street.
near the end, you'll see a little road that leads to the lake. its blocked by a few boulders, but you an sneek a a kayak very easily by them. you could drive down the road if youre vehicle has enough clearance, but id suggest parking on Wrights Lake Run (the road), and walking your kayak down. (its not a long walk). there are spots to lauch from there.

Or if you were so inclined to do some door knocking to see if someone would let you access the lake through their back yard...

I am in the area all the time and have never seen a place to launch anything more than a Kayak, I second what Ouird said, as well, now that Bowater lands are accessible, many lakes in there will have yellow perch.

Yeah that sounds a bit too cozy...even for a boat mooch like me.

Nice to hear that there's access for your kayak though.

In any event - I'm going to take a ride out there some time this week for a quick fish, I'll let you know how I make out.

never seen a yellow perch in porterslake lots of white perch though

Wright lake does have lots of Large Perch and very few trout but **** Pond next to it has lots of good size trout. The access trail at the end of Wright lake that goes to the Dam and Lake that we use to use to go Kayak fishing is now gone. NS power sold the lot and Ramar is presently building a house over it. Which is a bummer! There's is a public access of Westwood blvd by the end of it. But the trail going down to lake is steep and you have to climb over a few boulders to access the lake. If you use this access don't go alone you will need a hand to get the yak in the water.

Looking at google maps that access path seems pretty easy going at first , also looks like it connects to a tributary between wrights lake anderson lake, Anyone ever fish that may hold perch and trout

Anderson does have trout!

you can still use the trail to access the lake. I check today and they left it intak!
