I grew up in the valley most of my life but spent the last 6 years away and got into fishing during those years. I've spent all of it just using spinners, trolling, or drop shots.
I think I finally perfected the Eastern Shore Mayfly, also known as the Black Quill. To "match the hatch", I used this recipe:
Hook - #14 Mustad dry
Tail - dark grey dun
Body - stripped peacock herl, lacquered
Wing - drake Wood Duck flank, split
