The winter season is upon us, and it seems as though there will be some, or a lot, of open water. Is it worth trying to fish from shore for trout in January? There are a couple of lakes on the list that are fine for shore fishing during the summer, but I am not sure how that translates into winter fishing.

Thanks.

I managed to hook and fight a small bow on Penhorn today, lost it at my feet. I would have prefered ice though.

I hit Penhorn today, nothing happening. It was starting to ice up a bit though, hopefully that will continue over the next few days and we get some kind of cold snap to get us out there safely soon.
