Came across this story tonight. Apparently the Minnesotan was ice fishing on the Ontario side of the lake. Caught a 4-pounder and despite a one-fish non-resident limit, kept it and continued fishing. Later caught this monster 52-POUND fish. It has been confiscated.

Hmmm...tricky one. on one aspect, you could look at it as a rare exception; but are you then opening the flood gates against yourself. IMO charge him, fine him but don't stop the man from fishing. Only my opinion though. One heck of a fish though, I couldn't imagine pulling him in on my little ice rod.

Fine him but let his fish be officially weighted for the recods! Because a catch like this is ounce in a lifetime!

a catch is a catch, he wasn't fishing illegally he *kept* it illegally, so its a record regardless

Put it back after some photos, that one fish could end up being his last.
