Hi. Has anybody taken a fishing trip to a fishing lodge in Maine? My brother and I are planning a fishing trip to Maine in June 2014 and are trying to decide what fishing lodge to stay at. Target fish is bass, maybe walleye.  Any info will help. Thanks!

There are walleye in Great Pond, Long Pond & Messalonakee in the area of Belgrade village.  If you catch any walleye in the state of Maine, please kill them.  The dept of wildlife folks are trying to eradicate them from Maine waters.  I have fished the St Croix in the past and there were lots of smallmouth.  I did not go to a lodge but we took our boat and stayed at a motel near the river.  The fishing was great on the river we didn't need a guide to show us where to fish... the river was absolutely full of smallies!!

Regards...
