Man!  Just when I was afraid of my pocket book in light of Bass Pro opening in Moncton, now Cabelas is opening there too!  I am going to be divorced!

LOL

Also, I stopped into Better Buy Sports on the way home tonight.  Man, that place is expensive.  The Ralapa jigging rap sells for $6.99 on Bass Pro.  The same lure sells for $14.99 at Better Buy Sports.  And their ice fishing selection is deplorable.  They had maybe 10 different items in one small section of a shelf and all for smelt.  No ice shelters, no jigs, no ice rod combos, no ice scoops, no augers, and on and on.  I told the staff they need to work on their inventory and one of the gals there told me she told the boss the same thing.  But that same gal told me that she doesn't return chain pickerel to the water and instead she leaves them on the ice or shore "for the eagles."  (despite it being illegal).

Until they improve their inventory and reduce their prices, I see little need to go back.  When Cabelas and Bass Pro opens in 2015, their business will take a hit.

If I may ask, which local store is considering closing up shop.

I will be very surprised to see both Cabelas and Bass Pro opening their doors in Moncton.  I suspect that Better Buy Sports will just "go away" and, in all probability, one or the other of them.  I think someone at head office will probably be getting a "pink slip" in the future.  I'm sure that at the very least, they will have to change their choice of smoking materials. I really do not see how they can all survive.  But good luck to them both.  May the best (or the richest) store survive.  I hope I am wrong, but.....If you actually read the release, you will find it is known as a "Forward-Looking Statement" and their website urges you to exercise caution when reading,(and making plans) based on "Forward-Looking" information that Cabelas releases.

Regards.........

"The 50,000-square-foot store is scheduled to open in 2015" "will employ approximately 140 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees." I know where I am getting my part time job :D
