Hey guys im looking for some help. This aftenoon my friend and I were at conrads beach near lawencetown beach fishing by the little bridge before you get to the boardwalk that leads to the beach, and while we were fishing he caught the strangest looking fish. We never got a picture, but were going back tomorrow to see if we can catch another one. Anyways the best discription i can really explane it was that it looked like the body of a striped bass fry except its scals were silver and very fine like macks, and the face looked like a salmon fry (btw the fish was around 6 inches). A few people that stopped to talk said they do quite a bit of fly fishing and said they had no clue what it really looked like, anyways hope someone can help identify the hybrid looking fish!
jajajaja, nah its definity not a sea perch. I actually thought it looked like the bait fish they catch down in florida off the board walk with cast nets because it had the flat bodied feeling that those fish have. Remember all silver. I think it could be a shad fry, but the scales don't mach up with a shad(as i said before the scales came off all over your hands like makerel scales) . Ill try and get a picture today when i go back to go do some freediving
They do get sea run trout through there but I was definatly not, even the guys that stopped by that do fly fishing were confused to what it was. I ive gone though quite a few spieces idetification sites to find it but cant find anything. Maybe a striper fry with some genetic complications???
