I have been watching the Shad Cam with interest over the last couple weeks and I've grown a strange fascination with fish ladder designs and how the fish use them. Does anyone know where we might have a fish ladder, of fishway of anything of that nature anywhere in Nova Scotia that a person can go look at it or potentailly see the fish actually useing it? Interesting for me and educational for my kids too.

Sackville river has one beside the mill on lucasville rd.

Morgans Falls in New Germany, Indian Falls in Newburne, both LaHave River and the foot of Hebbs Lake in Hebbville, Petite River. The Falls on the Waugh river has a ladder now also. That should get you started. There are also ladders on the Mersey river that allow fish around the Hydro dams.

BTW, kudos to the members of the First Bedford Venturer Scout Company who helped the Sackville Rivers Association clean this fishway on Saturday morning.

There's a fishway on the North end of Shortts Lake as well.

Chase ,Have alook at this really interesting,but not local,, I grew up as a kid fishing -swimming in this river right in thre middle of St Johns,, great spot for kids..used to catch some large browns..glad to see there are salmon there now

There is also one on Harmony Lake in the Caledonia area, very close the McGowan hatchery.  It just went under major repairs last year thanks to DFO and NSCC students from the Lunenburg campus.
