Anyone fish here: 44.812897,-63.738856 ? If so what do you catch?

Coordinates from google maps. I wanted to make sure everyone knew which Springfield Lake I was referring!

Let me know! Thanks in advance!

This lake has been stocked with trout (and may still be). To my knowledge, that is the only sportfish there. I grew up very near the lake and there was always some trout to be found in April / May. I suspect that fishing right now is very SLOW.

I have fished there a few times this year. I have caught plenty of SMB but that's about it.

Hi Unknown365, are you sure we're talking about the same lake? Where on Springfield Lake have you fished?

Yes the is the lake in upper sackville and the road you can take is Lakeview Ave. I have fished a couple spots there and have no prob catching SMB. I even take the kids there because its so easy to hook one

Hey Newfie, I took a drive out there today to try it out. First of all its great for guys like me who fish from shore because the shore is shallow and you can wade around a lot of the lake. There are quite a few SMB in there most of them that I caught were of the smaller variety but I did have a massive bit that got away - the big ones almost always get away   :(   lol

That's good to hear. If all goes well, someone in the family will be buying a house there soon. I'm hoping to enjoy that pond this autumn.

I never seen and pickerel the day I fished there. Also yes there is a public boat launch right next to the beach if I recall.

Nope no boat launch.  Caught a bunch of itty bitty bass today. 8 to 10 inchers mostly. Despite or size (or lack of) I must say they were nice little scrappers. Determined to stay down.

Boys oh boys, Springfield pond is polluted with small smallmouth bass. If you have friends or family who have property and a boat or wharf, and wanna take your kids, this is the spot. Lots of itty bitties along the shoreline.

Yea there are alot out there the time I tried it. I caught a few pretty good size ones hiding around and under people wharfs. It is good to fish if you have no boat because you can walk along the shore its pretty shallow.
