Hey folks, a little while back after signing up at Pepsi.ca for a contest, I received an email that they're giving away grants to needy organizations to help improve the environment, neighborhood, etc. I put in a proposal for a $5000 grant to help the CCREA Hatchery project on the River Phillip. For any of you who have ever fished the River P, you know how beautiful it is. For those who haven't made it yet, it's worth every penny you spend to get there. It's one of the only rivers that meets spawning escapements for an open salmon season. The hatchery project is to help things along by releasing juvenile Atlantic Salmon back into the river to enhance the returns of grilse and MSW salmon. Please help out by voting for this project at the following link please!! Also, feel free to post this link on other boards, emails ETC. Let's make this viral & get everyone voting for this project. Let's get some money for a worthwhile project. Thanks for voting, JamieMy link

I keep voteing but it seems to me that someting is fishy! No pun intended! When it started wasn't the end of voteing a month ago and there would be 5K's for the top 5 not 4. Then the ranking changes with greater frequency than law of averages would allow. Might just be me and I will continue to vote but I dont think this project has ever been out of the top 5 and it would be a crime if it missed out.

Hi Greg, when I voted this afternoon it was in 3rd place. I just voted again a few minutes ago and it was still 3rd place. I certainly hope it makes it!

It is comeing along Eddie. I was talking to one of the boys and the building and raceways are almost ready. More clean up and repairs and brood stock can be collected. This is second hand info but I know they have been busy. There is a fund raiser dinner that is the second one to assist in the hatchery project. I cant make it this year as I will be fishing the Campbell River in BC but I went last year and had a blast. I will be donateing a couple paintings for the dinner as I like the idea and the people involved.
