Work-related travel has me bound for Calgary in the next little while and I'm trying to formulate my plans.

I've got the first part figured out. As I leave the airport, I'll "accidentally" turn north instead of south and head into the Bass Pro Shops in Rocky View for directions (and a licence and some advice).

After that, I'm not so sure. I'll have a couple of days to kill here and there and I'd like to head to Kananaskis Country as I never explored it during the two years I lived in Calgary, having spent most of my exploring time in Banff and Yoho National Parks.

I'm obviously scouring the Internet for ideas, but it's a "wealth of riches" and is making me drool rather than decide. Anyway, if any of you folks have any "must dos" within a one-hour radius of Calgary, I'd appreciate your advice.

Thanks in advance,
Paul

I started reading a book about anti-gravity and I just couldn't put it down.

I heard they were doing pretty good with the browns in the resevoir by the sail boat club. I think it's Glenmore. Kananaskis would be a nice trip too for some bulls and lakers.

Catch and Release fishing is a lot like golf. You don't have to eat the ball to have a good time

My biggest worry is that my wife (when I'm dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it.
I fish because the voices in my head tell me too!

Glenmore Reservoir..I just looked it up!

12. Glenmore Reservoir
Fish from shore or from a human-powered boat with weighted streamers, spoons and spinners for pike, perch, mountain whitefish, burbot, rainbows and browns. Early spring just after ice-out, summer evenings and fall mornings are best.

Kananaskis Country is beautiful! Enjoy, take a trip on the BOW River if you can, supposed to be a good spot in that area.

Know alot of places out there to fish seeing I work out that way too but most are already been noted that are close to Cow Town. If you go about 2 hours out of Calgary let me know ill cast you towards some places. Have fun!
