I'm thinking of heading to the middle sections of the Musquodoboit River toward the end of the week. Anybody know if it's completely blown out and not worth the gas money to check it out for myself?

Thanks in advance,
Paul

I started reading a book about anti-gravity and I just couldn't put it down.

I paddled the upper sections (30 km) around elderbrook last weekend. It was high but not muddy, very fishable, current was running around 3km/h, no rapids. I saw a lot of hatches mid day but no fish rising though...

Thanks, Adam. By "last weekend", do you mean May 7/8 or May 14/15?

Has anybody hit Musq. River lately? I'm thinking the sea run is starting soon but all the rain is probably still flooding up the place.... gas is too pricey to go "check it out" right now :(

I scouted it out this morning, but didn't fish it. The water's high, but still fishable; however, with the rain today and tomorrow, I suggest waiting 'til Monday.

Thinking about giving it a shot this weekend, anyone been there lately? How's it been fishing? I'm guessing the water level should be pretty good with not much rain the last few days. Any advice on flies?

I paddled it on the Victoria Day weekend. The water was high and there was lots of silt. Only saw a couple of fish rise and only caught a single 9" brookie.

That being said, this weekend could be AWESOME. The water level should be reasonable and I'm sure it cleared substantially.

Well that's just great news, thanks Paul. I've been wanting to get up there again, it's been a couple years. I'm really just looking forward to getting on the water again, it's almost been a week since I was out and I'm starting to go thru withdrawl lol.
