I have not done a tonne of ice fishing for picks, but I have actually had the most success using a gold mepps cyclops 1/8 oz tipped with mackeral or a buckshot rattling lure - again tipped with mackeral.
Good luck -they are a lot of fun - if you have flasher it is a lot more interesting as they will come to your lure and just stare at it for a while then lunge at it or decide to just slowly swim away. It is difficult to figure out what type of motion with the lure might trigger them to bite - they seem to have a mind of their own!

Try lipless crankbaits that rattle. Try jigging them aggressively or just subtle twitches. I like the Rapala rippin' rap or rattlin' rap in the smallest size. I also use Rapala jigging raps and spoons.
