I never tied Ice fishing and would love to give it a try instead of hybernating through winter.

Yes, as Ed mentioned, you are more than welcomed to join us this year.  I will message you over the winter and invite you.  CASA has an ice fishing tournament for chain pickerel during the free fishing weekend in February every year.  It is always a great time!

According to Environment Canada, we will have sub zero temperatures starting on Tuesday.  -7, -5, 0, -3.  That is a good start.  Hopefully be out the middle of January.  But we need some cold weather to get it going.

I hope yer right but I'm doubtful. I was looking at a thermal map of the world's oceans about two weeks ago. The eastern seaboard has/had a lot more heat in it, compared with most of the rest of the ocean. Canada's top weather man said he and his team is promising (a word they never use) us a tropical winter.  :(

If someone is looking for a tag along for some ice fishing I'd be in for some. Msg me here or use email, I'm itching to get some lines wet.

Someone was on penhorn yesterday fishing ,seen the sled markes and talked to one of the people who live there, I spudded out 5 feet and cut a test hole was 2.3/4 in, that was near the bus stop side the main part near the beach would most likely be less..few more cold days yet before I venture out any further..

Hey Guys,

It's probably on the site somewhere, but I thought I'd post the link for the Halifax "Ice Conditions" site. It might come in handy (someday) if we ever get some freakin steady weather.

https://apps.halifax.ca/icethickness

Hope it's usefull. Stay safe.

Terran
